Nine Fresh, a local brand in Singapore serving
taiwanese desserts has been gaining popularity. It aims to bring patrons “a
little piece of (Jiufen (九份)” as Jiufen was known for its chewy taro ball.
The desserts are made and
served fresh daily without the addition of artificial colouring or
preservative. What’s more important is that it is very wallet friendly
($2-$3.50). There are various outlets and I managed to visit the Yew Tee Point
outlet and Paya Lebar square outlet.
Some of the outlets are
takeaway station while some allow dine in. One such example is paya lebar
(dine-in) where there are few tables located within the shop. For takeaway
counter, there are mini standing table allocated for quick dining.

They served a variety of
desserts as seen in the menu enclosed below. But if you are too unable to
decide, why not narrow your choice to the top 9 best sellers of the shop.
Priced affordably so everyone
can enjoy For Taro ball lovers like me, you can choose to pay extra $0.60 for
additional topping. There are also some other topping for you to add based on
your preference.
To reward your loyalty, you
will be able to claim for free topping or items upon completing certain
milestones of the card. By completing the entire card, you can then drop the
card at the outlet for a chance to win their lucky draw for hotel stay, movie
and more.
I have order the nine fresh
signature九鲜招牌 which consist of bencurd, grass jelly,
taro balls, red bean, green bean, pinto bean, and peanut. The beancurd was
really smooth. It tastes very jelly-like. The ingredients were sufficient. What
I like most is the chew taro balls. I prefer the big taro balls as compared to
the mini taro balls.
