Misato is a Japanese restaurant serving chic and exquisite Japanese cuisine. It is located near to Gastro+ of The Centrepoint where at the most inner ring of the mall.

The cosy and quiet environment in misato makes it a pleasant dinning experience to chill and relax which indulging on the Japanese food served.

Misato restaurant served a variety of mains but lacks a little choice in the side dishes. This can be observed in these menu attached.

I especially love exploring new places with friends so that we can order more dishes to try. Yums..

Okonomiyaki ($14.90)

Okonomiyaki is a form of Japanese pancake made up of floor, cabbage, egg and meat (in this case pork belly). The pancake would then be drizzled with mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce. I like the okonomiyaki served here in Misato where you find that the ingredients are very generous. You won’t find that you are merely munching on floor unlike those sold in Pasar Malam (night market). The staff would remind you to that it is best consume when it is still warm.

Cha Soba ($13.80)

I’m never a fan of soba noodles but I like how chewy and rich in matcha taste the cha soba was. The housemade dipping sauce further enhance and give a very light taste. Especially like how chic food are being served to attract diners’ taste buds.

Sweet and Sour Pork Set ($18.80)

This sweet and sour pork set was served together with delicious Japanese rice and miso soup. Pork meats are being battered and stirred fried with balls of dragon fruits and sweet and sour sauce. It is then served in the dragon fruit itself. The look is definitely good and the meat are also non-oily and soft. But, we find that this dish does not serve much variation from those that are commonly found in other eatery.

Cheese Korokke ($7.90)

Crunchy breaded potato was filled with mozzarella cheese that ooze out upon cutting. Love the crunchiness and the non-greasy texture of this dish.

We were told that the shredded cabbage was air-flown from japan so it is very expensive. So we can paired with the sauce provided to give them some taste.

Tamagoyaki ($5.50)

Tamagoyaki served here are pretty soul-satisfying  as the sweetness and the texture of the rolled pan-fried omelette was just nice.

Miso Cod Chikuzen-ni Castle Set ($28.80

I must admit that I order this dish mainly because the presentation of this set was simply too irresistible. The bento set comprising of miso-marinated cod fish, simmered chicken, lotus root, capsicum, Konnyaku, carrots, burdock and Japanese rice was served in this three tier castle set. The taste was pretty decent and the ingredients taste fresh.

Handmade Gyoza ($6.90)

6 pieces of gyoza was pan-fried and served upside down, revealing the crispy pan-fried underneath of the gyoza. This crispy crisps makes an addition twist to the soft and well-marinated gyoza.

Sanshoku Warabi Mochi ($8.80)

This dessert is my ultimate favourite. The Japanese mocha was served in three flavours goma, kinako and matcha. You will be advised to start off with the lightest taste (Kinako à Gomaà Matcha). The level of bitterness also follows the same sequence. My favourite was Goma because the fragrant of roasted seasame was so rich. The warabi mocha was the ultimate bomb where the mocha was so soft, chewy and right in sweetness. Can’t resist craving for more.

Misato Paw Anmitsu ($9.90)

If you look closely at the dish, you will find two cute little paw mochi. It’s really cute though it is pretty tasteless. The matcha ice cream together with the fruits gives this dish the taste. I find this dessert very normal where I would rather spend the money to order another serving of sanshoku warabi mocha. Regrets L

Matcha Zenzai Mochi ($7.80)

Mochi was being grilled before adding into the redbean and green tea mixture. It gives a slight crispy texture on the outer due to grilling but the inner core was really soft and chewy. The light bitterness of the green tea has to neutralised the sweetness from the red bean paste.

Hot Green Tea ($3.90)

In every Japanese restaurant, green tea is always a common beverage. The green tea in Misato was served in an exquisite tea pot where the green tea leaves were mixed together with roasted rice. Even after 5 refill of water, the taste is still very rich. Well-worth.

Lychee Earl Grey Iced Tea ($5.50)

For non-green tea lover, this can be a drink you might want to try. Three giant lychee was added in the earl grey iced tea.

Currently, Misato was running on a promotion where you get 15% off a minimum order of $60 if you pay using your DBS/POSB card. Definitely a way to save money. I would not say that the food price here is wallet –friendly, but I do believe that Misato is a place to visit for its decent quality of Japanese food served.
