Kok Sen Restaurant 国成球记餐厅 – Zi Char Stall in Tanjong Pagar Estate (Keong Saik). It serves a variety of interesting and decent dishes in the area.

In the evening, you can see that the entire restaurant is packed with diners. I must say the taste of the dishes are pretty decent but is slightly pricier than the neighbourhood Zi Char stall.

There is a wide variety of food choice to choose from. We managed to order Big Prawns Hor Fun, Big Prawns Bee Hoon soup, Claypot Yong Tau Foo, Fried Crispy Roast Pork with Black Sauces and Poached Chinese Spinach With Assorted Eggs to try.

Fried Crispy Roast Pork with Black Sauces 香爆烧肉 (Small, $15) is my favourite dish. The roast pork is indeed crispy and fragrant. Coupled with salty and flavourful dark sauces, it makes it so addictive.

Big Prawns Hor Fun 大虾滑蛋河粉 (Small, $17.50) is kind of pricey. It tastes similar with the normal hor fun that you can find in your neighbourhood except that it comes with more egg and a few big and fresh prawn. This dish has a faint chilli taste in the gravy. I personally prefer this version as compared to the bee hoon soup version.

Big Prawns Bee Hoon Soup 大虾粗米粉汤 (Small, $17.50) is very similar with the hor fun version as it includes big prawns within. The thick bee hoon noodles were soak within a soup that comes with a slightly spiciness.

Claypot Yong Tau Foo 巧手三宝煲 (Small, $15) contains about 10 pieces of yong tau foo within. It is braised with their special sauces. The yong tau foo taste really fresh but the taste is slightly plain as we find that the yong tau foo were not marinated with the sauces. Hence there is a distinct taste in this dish.

Poached Chinese Spinach with Assorted Eggs 金银蛋苋菜($12) comes with Chinese spinach cooked with three different kind of egg (century egg, chicken egg and salted egg). Pretty decent dish.

All in all, I feel that Kok Sen serves pretty decent Zi Char in Keong Saik/ Tanjong Pagar / Chinatown area. Though it is slightly pricier than neighbour Zi Char, it worth the price given its location and taste.
