Elemen is a place that
offers a pleasant dining experience by serving delicious fusion of vegetarian
food. If you are inclined towards a vegetarian lifestyle, love natural food or
share a healthy concern for both the Earth and your personal well-being, elemen
welcome you.
In Elemen, you are given a
choice to choose either to order the ala carte dishes or by set meal. For those
who like to explore different dishes, I would strongly recommend to order the 8
course set meal at $32.80 per person. We have confirmed with the staff that the
serving for the ala carte was the same as what was served in the 8 course meal.
So you can imagine how small individual serving is as these 8 course set was
just enough to fill our tummy.
Starter
The Elemen Appetiser
($4.80)
The elemen appetiser
showcase trio mini bite size dish for diner to try. The staff will recommend
you to start off from eating left to right.
- Pumkin Tofu with Alfalfa Sprouts in sesame dressing is an interesting combination. The tofu is smooth and almost melt in the mouth. It does not have any pumpkin taste. Simply taste like egg tofu.
- Cucumber in soy sauce gives a very light taste with a crunchy texture.
- Cherry Tomato in Plum Sauce is a dish to beware when consuming. This is because the tomato is so juicy such that it burst out upon biting it. The faint sourish plum taste coupled with sweet juicy cherry tomato, definitely help to enhance your taste bud for the dishes to come.
Rosemary Breadsticks with
Raspberry Yogurt Sauce ($2.80)
The soft and chewy texture
of the breadsticks coupled with the sweet sour yogurt sauce makes you crave for
more after having your first bite. Upon eating, the breadsticks, it leaves a
faint fragrant of the rosemary herb in your mouth.

Soup
Double –Boiled Burdock
Roots With Monk Fruit ($8.80)
The broth was really clear
and clean. It gives you a very light feeling as though you are cleansing your
entire body with this healthy broth. The nature sweetness from the burdock
roots and monk fruits makes it a soul-satisfying dish.
Wild Mushroom Cream With
Truffle Oil ($6.80)
When being served this
cream of mushroom, the truffle smell was really strong and fragrant. It really
smooth and creamy but for the same reason, it makes diner easily full from it.
Apple Cider
Apple Cinder
Apple Cinder has been
known for its benefit of improving weight-loss, reducing blood pressure,
cholesterols, enhancing complexion. The apple cider served here is a very
strong sour and concentrated form. For those who can’t take too sour food, why
not take sip by sip instead of gulping down in one try.
Mains
Spicy Shitake With Purple
Rice Roll ($15.80)
It is made of purple rice,
carrot, cucumber, crispy tempura, chilli and shitake. The spiciness level of
this sushi was really so mild till you can’t even taste it. Definitely make you
feel abit less guilty for eating carbs as it is supposingly a healthier rice.
The colour also help to attract you tastebud!
Wild Mushroom and White
Truffle Pizza ($15.80)
Thin crispy pizza crust
was being topped with richly-flavoured truffle oil, sautéed wild mushroom and
shaved cheese. Definitely a popular choice for pizza lovers. The pizza is big
enough for sharing.
Braised Bailing Mushroom
With Ee Fu Noodles ($15.80)
Bailing mushroom is a
unique mushroom in china which is rich in proteins and vitamin. The ee fu
noodles were stirred fried with braised bailing noodles garnished with a cherry
tomato. This ee fu noodles taste pretty normal like those you can find in zi
char stall. Perhaps the only plus point is the unique kind of mushroom.
Japanese Curry Noodles
with Beancurd Roll ($12.80)
It is recommended to eat udon
by soaking it in savoury Japanese curry along with crunchy kalian, mushroom,
chestnut and beancurd roll.
Sizzling Quinoa Brown Rice
($15.80)
This dish was served warm
on the table. It was well-curated with a texture that bound to delight. Brown
rice and quinoa is served with finely chopped mushrooms and capsicums to
provide a natural sweetness while the charred rice gains at the bottom of the
hot stone gives a crispy contrast. Simple Amazing.
Dessert
Sticky Date Pudding With
Gelato ($9.80)
Warm pudding is glazed
with homemade butterscotch, sprinkled with walnuts and topped with vanilla
gelato. I love how dense the pudding was and how the sweetness was just right.
Snow Chrysanthemum With
Grass Jelly ($5.80)
For a more Asian dessert,
you can option for this which give gives a light and refreshing taste. The
osmanthus flower within the jelly give off a floral taste upon consuming it.
Five Treasures Ai-Yu
($6.80)
There is nothing fancy
about this dessert. Just like any Ai-Yu served in other restaurant, the sour
sweet combination makes it a very refreshing dessert.
Double-Boiled Lemongrass
With Peach Gum (6.80)
This dish is actually a
traditional Asian dessert where sweet lemongrass infused soup is filled with
white fungus and white peach gum. It is a comforting food for tummy for diners
who do not like cold food.
Beverage
Sea Salt Coffee ($4.80)
The espresso was topped
with a layer of smooth and lightly salted cream. It gives a silky feeling with
a tinge of saltiness. I’m not a fan of such coffee.
Lavender Tea ($4.80)
Lavender tea is often use
as a source to relax minds and aid in digestion. With this floral lavender tea,
it helps to “clean” our tummy and in hope aids us in digestion.
The modern zen environment
of the elemen restaurant gives of a very clean and comfortable setting for a
gathering. But, the service in the restaurant needs for improvement, especially
during weekend. We find the service slow and the staff lacks the initiative. For
example, one of my friend order the pizza for her main, but was only served
after everyone finished our meal. We request for the staff to check on the
status of the dish only to find her walk into the kitchen, check and then walk
out. No update was given.
