KLM
Royal Dutch Airlines was founded in 1919. To this day, KLM is the oldest
airline still operating under its original name and the national airline of the
Netherlands. KLM has been part of the AIR FRANCE KLM group since their merger

Recently, I went on a trip to bali (read more) with my bf and his family. Usually, I tend to take Singapore Airline, Silk Air, Thai Airway, Cathay Pacific Scoot Airline, Jetstar, Tiger Airline, and Airasia. This time, we decided to try KLM due to its low fare during the promotion period. My round-trip fare to Bali from Singapore was only SGD $150.
1. Purchase Of Tickets
Unlike other airlines, the website of KLM was really clean,
simple and elegant. The layout was similar to its airplanes colours - blue and
white theme.
The first thing you will encounter upon entering the
web (www.klm.com) is to choose the country of departure and the preferred language
so that they can update the travel route based on your selection.
You will be directed to this webpage where you can do
your selection.
Unsure of which country to visit? Need some
inspiration? You can click on “I want to see all destinations). It will divert
you to travel guide where they provide you with information on the country and
travel time based on the country of departure you have previously selected.
“Get Inspired” icon would display a list of Handpick selection of
countries that KLM recommend to you.
“Filter & Find”would help to narrow the selection to cater to
your budget, interest and region.
The purchase of ticket was really easy. The purchase of ticket
only required 3 things - Name, Email & Contact Number. It facilitates fast
booking procedure.
2.Check-in
SG-Bali
We
received an email regarding doing an online check-in about 30hrs before the
flight time. For fear that if we do online check-in, we do not received the physical
air ticket for safekeeping as memory. (Ps.. wrong mindset). So
we ignored the email.
When
we reached airport 2 hrs before the flight time, the check-in counter was
already open. This was when we were informed that we could not sit together.
Below is my conversation with the KLM Staff at the check-in counter.
Me: Why can’t we sit together? We have
selected our seats at the point where we buy our ticket?
KLM Staff: This is because you did not do
online check-in.
Me: I think it is not reasonable. When we
book our ticket, we selected the seats. What’s the purpose of selecting the
seats when we cannot have the seat (serve no purpose?)
In
order not to spoil our holiday mood, we agreed to the new seating arrangement.
Bali-SG
Learning from our last experience, we did online check-in and thus we got the seats we originally chosen. **Bear this mind~** Personally, I find the return ticket better
looking as it encompass the blue theme of KLM.
3. Aircraft
The
aircraft that we board for Bali to SG was better as the screen for the aircraft
was touch screen. Even The call button and light button
was controlled by the screen.

The remote control was slightly slow in response.

meant to be used for safety demonstration

The seat was spacious and there is also adjustable headrest.

The return flight was generally similar with the one we
board to bali. Expect that the in-flight screen was touch-screen when we
return.

4. Service
The
flights attendants were really fast to respond to our needs. Earphone and hot
towels were immediately served upon flight stabilization. It was also very
interesting to have safety demonstration to be done not by flight attendants;
it was broadcasted on the screen.

5. Meals
The inflight meal was really delicious :D

The return meal was more Asian taste serving curry chicken
(not spicy), Lemon pound cake with
condensed milk, salad and bread.
6. Information / Travel Incenti ves Meals
Even
after our flight completed, we received an email to ask us to join their
contest for a chance to win a pair of ticket to our ideal location.Most airline customer service will end upon completion of the
flight. KLM was slightly difference. It provide more travel incentives such as
this promotion.

In
summary, I enjoy my flight experience with KLM. I really hope I can win a pair
of ticket to my favourite destination :D
