Seoi
Gor Café – A cosy Hong Kong café in Buona Vista. It serves delicious scrambled
eggs on toast , lok lok (sticks of finger food) and hong kong style noodles.
It
is surprising to discover this little café situated in Holland Drive (Buona
Vista) where the entire neighhour are mainly markets and coffee shops. The café
was cosy and have a seating of about 20 pax at a time. The prices of the food
served there are very wallet-friendly as the mains cost only $4.80.
My
favourite food is the Scrambled Eggs, Ham & Thick Toast ($4.50). The
scrambled eggs are pretty well done, where there is still some runniness and
milky taste in it. Yums yums. The toast was crispy on the outer which the inner core is still soft. Love the combination.
Dry
Noodles with Fried Egg ($4.80) tastes pretty much like dry mixed maggie mee
that we can do at home. The typical hong kong style noodles. The noodles were
pretty much “springy” and flavourful. It would be best eaten with either ham /
luncheon meat.
There
is also a soup version for the noodles, where the taste of the soup is pretty
much delicious too.
If
you find purely eating the noodles are too plain, you can choose to add stick
of finger food. Each stick cost $1.80, where you can choose to have soaked in
soup or curry. Personally, I prefer the curry flavour since the noodles taste
fairly healthy.
Visiting
a HK style café / restaurant would not be completed without having HK milk tea
or coffee. I love the milk tea as HK milk tea usually use “stocking” as filter
thus the taste is creamier and smooth. It is served without any sugar added,
thus you can add the sweetness according to your preference.
For
those who do not have the budget/ time to fly to HK for the famous Australia
Dairy Company which serves delicious scrambled egg and steamed egg, can drop by
Seoi Gor Café as a temporary alternative.
