Jinjja Chicken was located in the shopfront around the Bugis
Street. It was restaurant was pretty cosy with Korean music being played
throughout. It can be a great rest stop to fill your tummy and recharge for
even more shopping in Bugis Street.
There is a wide variety of Korean food for selection –
Korean Fried Chicken, Noodles (JJajang myeon/ jjamppong, bibim meyon), Rice Set
and fingerfood like fries and fied dumpling. They also serve Korean shaved ice –Bingsu.
Upon order, diners will be given a caller so that
diners can sit down and enjoy before the food is ready for collection.
On our visit, we have tried the 6 pcs set ($9.90) and
the 3 pcs drumstick ($10.90). We have topped at $0.60 each to change our
softdrink to yuzu tea and sikhye rice drink. These two drinks are more “korean”
and healthier.
We ordered the mixed flavour so that we can try soya
garlic and yangnyeom (sweet and spicy). The chicken was crispy and non-oily.
However, I find that they are abit stingy with the sauce. For the chicken
wings, the sauce is adequate.
For the drumstick, it becomes really dry and tasteless
once the surface sauce was consumed. You can see that the chicken within was
kind of tasteless and dry. If there are more generous with the sauce, I will
enjoy my experience better.
For a cheaper and fast Korean fried chicken experience,
Jinjja chicken can be your choice.
