Smoothie House (思慕昔)
is a popular dessert spot in taiwan , located at Yong Kang Street. They are
well-known for heaping plates of fruit covered snowflake shaved ice. It is
a "must go to" spot for tourist. Finally, we no longer have to fly to
Taiwan when our craving for this yummy shaved ice kicks in. It has opened its
store at One raffles place and Paya Lebar Square.
It is located in One Raffles Place
Level 3 (beside greendot) and Paya Lebar square Level 2. I’m so glad that I
happen to pass by smoothie house when I was in raffles place. Within the shop,
there is seating area for diners to enjoy the desserts. It was pretty spacious.
It was a self-service café
so upon entering, we took the cute looking mango menu to know what are the
desserts being served. After making the
desserts selection, we have to pay at the cashier before you will be notified
to collect them. The process was rather fast and convenient.
Although mango snowflake ice
with panna cotta was the best seller, we did not order that as my past
experience in Taiwan tells me that I will get too sick of the sweet sour mango.
So, we order the mix strawberry snowflake Ice with panna cotta and mix mango
snowflake ice with panna cotta instead. These combination gives us a variety of
fruit choice such as kiwi, strawberry and mango. Furthermore, it looks more
photogenic with more colours .
The Mix Strawberry Snowflake Ice with Panna Cotta
gives a pink base while the Mix Mango Snowflake Ice with Panna Cotta gives a
range base due to the flavor being use. Strawberry base tends to be slightly sourer
than the mango flavor, so for diners that get sick of sweet stuff easily can
choose this variation instead. Do note that the kiwi and strawberry fruits tend
be very sour while the mango was sweet-sour. I find that the combination was
good to balance a mixture of taste.
