Day 4
As usual, we woke up early morning before sunrise just because we were going back to Bangkok and lots of activities waiting for us!

We have chances to take photo with our super cheap villa. It gave us a comfy rest even though it was only a short night.

However, we did not start the day smoothly. We asked them the night before about the transport back to Bangkok and was informed that they could help us to arrange for minivan (a public transportation which is very common in Thailand) to stop-by in front of the villa at 7am yet when were ready at the exact time only to realize that they forgot to help us make the booking. The staff immediately requested for the next session of minivan and was told only available at 8am. The place was nice to stay in but the staff’s service need to be improved further.

Tidy up our mood, we board the minivan at 8am sharp and setoff to Bangkok. The minivan stop at the Southern Bangkok Bus Terminal which was unexpected as we thought it will stop at Victoria Monument. We had our breakfast there with few pieces of bread to temporary fill our growling stomach.
Even though it's not from famous stall, it’s cheap and nice :)

We then took the public bus 511 directly to our next destination, hotel for tonight accommodation. We alighted at Pratunam area in front of Pantip Plaza.

It took us some time to locate the hotel. It was actually conveniently located in front of 7-eleven and Pratunam Post, the same street of the famous Sabx2 Soi19 Wanton Mee yet it was hard to be spotted due to morning market along the whole streets which blocked our vision to the hotel.

As we were still early for check-in, we left our luggage at hotel lobby and requested the staffs to take care for us. The staffs were very responsible as they will tag every luggage from every customer to make sure the right person retrieve the right luggage. A right turn out from the hotel will lead us to Soi19 Wanton Mee which was fortunately not crowded at that time :D We immediately sat down for a taste for their famous Wanton Mee and the pork's knuckle rice.

The Wanton Mee was very delicious as it was not too salty yet very tasteful. The pork's knuckle rice was not properly cleaned where you can still see the pork's hair clearly. Though it was very well marinated, we didn't have much of it :((

Operating Hours:  Daily, 0900 - 1600

We then headed over to the famous shopping paradise in town - The Platinum Mall. This is a mall with 5 or 6 levels (if I was not mistaken), comprises shop lots selling cheap stuffs, mostly clothes and shoes. It's women paradise! Of course there is male clothing too; just that it is much lesser as compared to the female.

The prices are not that expensive compared to what we could buy in Singapore! The clothes prices ranges from 100baht (T-shirts) to 300plus baht for the better designed and quality shirts. The shopkeeper would be willing to give discount if you buy 3 piece or more from them.

As the shop lots were really too much in scale, we walked till our leg muscle cramp and finally stop-by at the shop lot selling crepe. We ordered a banana chocolate cheese crepe and it was super delicious! It was crispy and rich in ingredients.

My favorite crepe - banana chocolate cheese (90 baht)

Decided to conserve some energy for the tomorrow, so we headed over to a sweet dessert - Mango Tango near Siam Square! Like its name, it's all about Mango. We managed to get in without queuing (Moments after we get in, queue starts to form). We were required to order at least one item per pax.
The  Interior of Mango Tango. It looks really modern and classy.

Mango Tango (145 baht)
Mango Rhumba (95baht)
The desserts taste fairly normal lacking the "wow" factor. The only plus point maybe that the mango was really sweet and juicy.

Location:

Mango Tango

Siam Square Soi 3

Operating Hours:  Daily, 1130 – 2200

It’s near to dinner time after we finish our mango desserts.  We went to Ban Khun Mae for our dinner. It was just 2 mins walk from mango tango which we have reserved days before arrival. Ban Khun Mae is a quite famous restaurant in Bangkok which is widely recognised by the locals as well as tourist. It sells delicious local cuisine and the food choice was fairly large including our craving – Green Curry, Pad Thai etc.

Entering Ban Khun Mae, you will realize that the restaurant was dimly lighted, clean, and rustic with its timbre furnishing and Thai theme decorations (ornaments and paintings).

Deep Fried Marinated Pandan Leaf Chicken (120 Baht):  The pandan chicken was  served with sweet chilli sauce. The sauce makes a perfect combination with the chicken to add moisture to the chicken. The chicken was fragrant and tender.

Green Curry Chicken (120 baht):  It was creamy and had an appetising aroma. There is a right balance of sweetness and mild spiciness which makes it a perfect combination with plain rice.

Baked Prawn With Tang Hoon (280 Baht): The glass noodles was springy and well-braised with the sauce. However, I find it too pepery to my liking. The prawns were very big and fresh. Its meat was firm.

Fried water spinach (80 baht): Water Spinach is what we call as “kangkong” in Singapore. Unlike the kangkong we eat in Singapore where it was fried with sambal blachan, it was fried with red chili here. The stems were still crunchy yet it was not spicy at all.

Ice Blended Coconut (80 baht?): It was very refreshing and cold. You could still taste bits of coconut meat within the drink.

Ice Blended Water Melon (80 baht?): My bf like it a lot as he finds that it helps to cool him down from the hot weather in BKK as well as the heaty food we have been consuming.

After the heavy meal in Ban Khun Mae, I insisted on going to After You café for dessert while my bf was trying his best to stop me because he simply can’t stuff in anymore food.  There is a saying “there is always room for dessert”. We waited for an hour for seats in the After You outlet at Siam square. Bf was very thankful for the wait as he feels that some of the food start to digest thus no longer feels bloated.

Initially, I wanted to order the Shibuya Honey Toast and Strawberry Cheesecake Kakigori, but the Strawberry Cheesecake Kakigori was temporary out of stock due to the large volume of patrons ordering. The waiting time for the Cheesecake Kakigori becomes 1 hr instead of the usual 30 mins. So they stop taking ordering for a moment during our visit.

Interior of the cafe
Strawberry Mille Crepe (125 baht): Look the texture that layers of thin crepe topped with light whipped cream and strawberry gives. The crepes were soft and light. It was overpowering sweet as the sweet-sour strawberry helps to neutralize the sweetness from the whipped cream.

Shibuya Honey Toast (165 baht): the must try in bkk. The outer coating of the shibuya toast was honey coated and toasted. It was slightly crunchy. But when you cut open the toast, the bread within is soft and fluffy. The matcha ice cream with the general serving of whipped cream helps to create a right blend of texture
The strawberry cheesecake kakigori that we din't manage to eat

Photo to prove our existence...
After all these indulgence, I’m in food coma.  I was tired to take the bts back while bf has not tried taking tuk-tuk. So we hopped into one to send us back hotel to put our stuff before going to night market at pratunam market and massage session.

Day 5

We start the day early by visiting the morning market tasting the local delicacy sold. Was busy eating and I have forgotten to take more photos.

Tasty hotdog roll in the making
Cheesy Hotdog Roll (20 baht): It is cheap and delicious. The crepe were crispy and the hotdog was cheesy. Wanted to have more buy i need to save some space for other food.

Dimsum were sold 6 for 10 baht. the dimsum (siew mai ) was delicious but was too ugly for me to snapped a picture due to the sauce being poured in.

The round shaped food was actually the toasted rice cake (10 baht). I  thought it was tapoica cake -.-  It was not to my likely as it was kind of tasteless without any other food to accompany with. However, it was crispy on the outside but chewy in the inside.
We also bought the toasted bread (20 baht) to try. Within the bread, it was spread with butter and was then topped with condensed milk.

After exploring the place, it was nearly afternoon. So we start travelling down to my bf favourite place – Caturday Cat Café. It was located just 10 m away from Ratchathewi BTS.  Head towards exit 2 and take the stairs down to the right. You’ll see ‘guts’ restaurant at the corner. Then, turn right into the carpark and you will see Caturday Cat Café on your left.

Before you can enter the cafe, you will be requested to wash and disinfect your hands so as to protect the little ones. Inside the café, you can find about 10-20 cats roaming free where you can touch, pat and play with. There will definitely be no lack of these little friends.

The experience in Caturday Cat Café was a total pleasure. You can see baskets of toys being hang on the walls to let you play with them .The owner also encourage more interaction between the cats and the visitors by giving us treats to feed the cats.

Apart from the satisfaction derived from the company of these little friends, the food provided by the café was also good. There is a huge variety of choices ranging from cakes, sides and main course. Plus point is that, they are also very instagram worthy.  Presented in a photo-album and offering a range of cakes, sides and main meals. We order a couple to try and to fill our tummy.

Katchup Red Velvet Cake (138 baht): The cake was slightly stiff and dry. But the cream cheese was just nice where it was not too sweet. The grumpy cat decorated on the cake makes it more appetizing to eat.
Rainbow Crepe Cake With Strawberry Sauce (138 Baht): The crepes cakes layered with whipped crèam was slightly sweet. However, the strawberry sauce provided was very sour. The combination of both makes it appetizing and nice to consume.
Pork Minced Bolognaise (158 baht)& Carbonara (158 baht): The pasta taste fairly normal. Ultimately, people came to this café for cats. Food just simply acts as a bonus to this café.
Tropical Passion Smoothie (138 Baht): It was rich is passion fruit taste sour and sweet.
Double Berry Smoothie (138 Baht): I love this smoothie as it was sour. I love sour food.

My bf was super satisfied and grateful for my arrangement :D With the timing striking 3pm, we have to rush back to our hotel to check-out and proceed to the airport. As we were about to reach our hotel, I can’t resist my crepe temptation and I ordered one. This is one of the best I have eaten. I have always eat from this stall which is situated right before we turn into Soi 19.

Generous Serving of Ingredient (90 baht

In Singapore, our macdonald does not sell any pork product. Since Thailand has, of course we have to buy and try the pork samurai burger. It tastes pretty similar to the chicken one we have in Singapore, except that it is more juicy and tender. I also bought a coconut ice cream below my hotel, but but but..  The taste was so much worse. It is also more expensive costing 40 baht.
