Day 4
As usual, we woke up
early morning before sunrise just because we were going back to Bangkok and
lots of activities waiting for us!
We have chances to take photo with our
super cheap villa. It gave us a comfy rest even though it was only a short
night.
However, we did not start the day smoothly.
We asked them the night before about the transport back to Bangkok and was
informed that they could help us to arrange for minivan (a public
transportation which is very common in Thailand) to stop-by in front of the
villa at 7am yet when were ready at the exact time only to realize that they
forgot to help us make the booking. The staff immediately requested for the
next session of minivan and was told only available at 8am. The place was nice
to stay in but the staff’s service need to be improved further.
Tidy up our mood, we board the minivan at
8am sharp and setoff to Bangkok. The minivan stop at the Southern Bangkok Bus
Terminal which was unexpected as we thought it will stop at Victoria Monument.
We had our breakfast there with few pieces of bread to temporary fill our
growling stomach.
Even though it's not from famous stall, it’s cheap and nice :) |
We then took the public bus 511 directly to our next destination,
hotel for tonight accommodation. We alighted at Pratunam area in front of
Pantip Plaza.
It took us some time to locate the hotel. It was actually
conveniently located in front of 7-eleven and Pratunam Post, the same street of
the famous Sabx2 Soi19 Wanton Mee yet it was hard to be spotted due to morning market
along the whole streets which blocked our vision to the hotel.
As we were still
early for check-in, we left our luggage at hotel lobby and requested the staffs
to take care for us. The staffs were very responsible as they will tag every
luggage from every customer to make sure the right person retrieve
the right luggage. A right turn out from the hotel will lead us
to Soi19 Wanton Mee which was fortunately not crowded at that time :D We
immediately sat down for a taste for their famous Wanton Mee and the
pork's knuckle rice.
Hotel view from the outside
|
The Wanton Mee was very delicious as it was not too salty yet very
tasteful. The pork's knuckle rice was not properly cleaned where you can still
see the pork's hair clearly. Though it was very well marinated, we didn't have
much of it :((

We then headed over to the famous shopping paradise in town - The
Platinum Mall. This is a mall with 5 or 6 levels (if I was not mistaken),
comprises shop lots selling cheap stuffs, mostly clothes and shoes. It's women
paradise! Of course there is male clothing too; just that it is much lesser as
compared to the female.
The prices are not that expensive compared to what we could buy in
Singapore! The clothes prices ranges from 100baht (T-shirts) to 300plus baht
for the better designed and quality shirts. The shopkeeper would be willing to
give discount if you buy 3 piece or more from them.
As the shop lots were really too much in scale, we walked till our
leg muscle cramp and finally stop-by at the shop lot selling crepe. We ordered
a banana chocolate cheese crepe and it was super delicious! It was crispy and
rich in ingredients.
My favorite crepe - banana chocolate cheese (90 baht)
|
Decided to conserve
some energy for the tomorrow, so we headed over to a sweet dessert - Mango
Tango near Siam Square! Like its name, it's all about Mango. We managed to get
in without queuing (Moments after we get in, queue starts to form). We were
required to order at least one item per pax.
Mango Rhumba (95baht) |
It’s near to dinner time after we finish
our mango desserts. We went to Ban Khun Mae for our dinner. It was just 2
mins walk from mango tango which we have reserved days before arrival. Ban Khun
Mae is a quite famous restaurant in Bangkok which is widely recognised by
the locals as well as tourist. It sells delicious local cuisine and the food
choice was fairly large including our craving – Green Curry, Pad Thai etc.
Entering Ban Khun Mae, you will realize
that the restaurant was dimly lighted, clean, and rustic with its timbre
furnishing and Thai theme decorations (ornaments and paintings).

Ban Khun Mae

After the heavy meal in Ban Khun Mae, I
insisted on going to After You café for dessert while my bf was trying his best
to stop me because he simply can’t stuff in anymore food. There is a
saying “there is always room for dessert”. We waited for an hour for seats in
the After You outlet at Siam square. Bf was very thankful for the wait as he
feels that some of the food start to digest thus no longer feels bloated.
Initially, I wanted to order the Shibuya Honey Toast and
Strawberry Cheesecake Kakigori, but the Strawberry Cheesecake Kakigori was
temporary out of stock due to the large volume of patrons ordering. The waiting
time for the Cheesecake Kakigori becomes 1 hr instead of the usual 30 mins. So
they stop taking ordering for a moment during our visit.

Photo to prove our existence... |
After all these
indulgence, I’m in food coma. I was tired to take the bts back while bf
has not tried taking tuk-tuk. So we hopped into one to send us back hotel to
put our stuff before going to night market at pratunam market and massage session.

Day 5
We start the day early
by visiting the morning market tasting the local delicacy sold. Was busy eating
and I have forgotten to take more photos.
Tasty hotdog roll in the making
|
Cheesy Hotdog Roll (20 baht): It is cheap and delicious. The crepe were crispy and the hotdog was cheesy. Wanted to have more buy i need to save some space for other food.
|
Dimsum were sold 6 for 10 baht. the dimsum (siew mai ) was delicious but was too ugly for me to snapped a picture due to the sauce being poured in.
|
After exploring the place, it was nearly afternoon. So we start
travelling down to my bf favourite place – Caturday Cat Café. It was located
just 10 m away from Ratchathewi BTS. Head towards exit 2 and take the
stairs down to the right. You’ll see ‘guts’ restaurant at the corner. Then,
turn right into the carpark and you will see Caturday Cat Café on your
left.

Before you can enter the
cafe, you will be requested to wash and disinfect your hands so as to protect
the little ones. Inside the café, you can find about 10-20 cats roaming
free where you can touch, pat and play with. There will definitely be no lack
of these little friends.
The experience in
Caturday Cat Café was a total pleasure. You can see baskets of toys being
hang on the walls to let you play with them .The owner also encourage more
interaction between the cats and the visitors by giving us treats to feed the
cats.

Photos of visitors |
Apart from the
satisfaction derived from the company of these little friends, the food
provided by the café was also good. There is a huge variety of choices ranging
from cakes, sides and main course. Plus point is that, they are also very
instagram worthy. Presented in a photo-album and offering a range of
cakes, sides and main meals. We order a couple to try and to fill our tummy.

My bf was super satisfied and grateful for
my arrangement :D With the timing striking 3pm, we have to rush back to our
hotel to check-out and proceed to the airport. As we were about to reach our
hotel, I can’t resist my crepe temptation and I ordered one. This is one of the
best I have eaten. I have always eat from this stall which is situated right
before we turn into Soi 19.
Generous Serving of Ingredient (90 baht) |
In Singapore, our macdonald does not sell any pork
product. Since Thailand has, of course we have to buy and try the pork samurai
burger. It tastes pretty similar to the chicken one we have in Singapore,
except that it is more juicy and tender. I also bought a coconut ice cream
below my hotel, but but but.. The taste was so much worse. It is
also more expensive costing 40 baht.
