Car Born cafe, a cosy and car theme café situated in
shop house in Skudai. All it need is a less than 10 minute drive from Sutera
Mall. Car Born café serves many interesting and pretty (really very Instagram-worthy)
desserts. You can practically go crazy with what to order so that you can get
the most likes for your Instagram post. But I assure you, it’s too much a
hassle to decide since there are really too many choices.
Since it is a car theme café, you will be greeted by many car related decoration and equipment. For example, you will see a blue tiffany mini copper within the car to serve as a spot for photo, equipment box as a utensils holder and also horn as a “caller” for services. It is pretty interesting.
As mentioned, there are really many interesting
desserts, I have no choice but to revisit this café a few time to try before
this review.
As I was really hungry during my first visit, I have
order this car born signature fried rice which is basically fried rice services
with sausage, egg and topped with black pepper sauce. It was a pretty decent
fried rice to fill you tummy before indulging in the desserts.
In Singapore, 3D latte art was introduced by Chock
Full of Beans and is rarely served in most café. That is why I’m surprised that
in this café, it service 3D latte art of your choice. You can personalize it
for you milk-based beverage (be it cold or hot).
Next up, it would be the cute choux. It was French cream
puff. It comes in different flavour such as vanilla, matcha, chocolate. I
personally do not like this dish as I like the choux too soft and non-crispy.
The filling was also disappointing as it was really flowly and sweet. But I guess it is instagram-worthy to order
this dish.
The donuts are simply too cute to be resist. No doubt
that it was pretty sweet, I like the texture of the donut as the inner core was
fluffy and soft which the other is slightly “harder”. It kind of creates a
contrasting texture while consuming it.
This unicorn dessert set was introduced recently. It was
really pretty. But be fast to capture the moments before this pretty sight
disappears in minutes.
Here is a video of how it looks like when served.
I pretty much like another dessert call the chocolate
ball. Hot alcohol was being pour over the chocolate ball to melt the other
sphere, revealing the delicious delights within.
